Week 1- Aug 14th-16th

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Wednesday August 14th The students were filled with both excitement and nervousness so our first day was much more relaxed.  The main goal for the day was for the students to get a feel for the classroom, as well as getting to know their fellow classmates and making new friends.  We successfully made it through our first ever morning meeting where we discuss the days of the week, month, weather, and do a morning prayer.  The whole class was attentive and participated!  A huge...

Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies! There are a few things that I would like to share with parents so that they have it for their own information.  As a preschool, we use the "Story of God's Love" series for our religion to share stories of the bible in a way that is designed for children.  For social and emotional growth, we use "A Little Spot of Emotions and Feelings" to teach children about their emotions in a healthy way.  Within my classroom, we use a phonics a...
