Welcome!

Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year!

My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!

There are a few things that I would like to share with parents so that they have it for their own information.  As a preschool, we use the "Story of God's Love" series for our religion to share stories of the bible in a way that is designed for children.  For social and emotional growth, we use "A Little Spot of Emotions and Feelings" to teach children about their emotions in a healthy way.  Within my classroom, we use a phonics and handwriting curriculum to supplement and help the children develop skills that are foundational for Kindergarten next year.

It is vital that your child arrives to school on time so that they can participate in all aspects of the day.  It is also important that they are wearing comfy clothes and shoes so that they are able to easily move around the classroom during activities and during recess.

I am also providing a list of things that are necessary on the first day of school to ensure a successful school year.
  1. Blanket, small pillow, and small stuffed animal for rest time (cot sheet is provided by the school).  Nap items, including cot sheet, will be sent home on Fridays, or the last day of the week, to be cleaned at home.
  2. Extra change of clothes.  These clothes will be put in a storage bag, given at open house, and stored in the child's cubby. Extra clothes are important because messes sometimes happen and we may not have extra clothes in your child's size.
  3. Backpack and folders are needed at school daily in order for communication to happen in a productive manner.
  4. A labeled water bottle is needed so that students can freely get a drink while in class.  The water bottle must have the child's name and can be filled daily in the classroom.  Water bottles will be sent home at the end of the week to be cleaned at home.
I am so excited for this school year and to get to know your children!  I am available to answer questions via email (hhagenhoff@stpeterjc.org) between 7 am and 4:30 pm Monday-Friday.  A response may take up to 24 hours due to instructional time and supervision of students.
