Week 19- January 5th-9th
Monday January 5th
We started off our day by celebrating Maria's birthday.
Students also started learning about the letter Qq. We then watched "The Magic School Bus In the Artic" and talked about how certain animals use their bodies to stay warm and how they can use their coloring to stay safe.
Tuesday January 6th
Students listened to the story of the magi finding baby Jesus today and discussed the gifts they had brought. Students also continued to learn about the letter Qq.
Wednesday January 7th
Students started the day by practicing writing the letter Qq on the tables with dry erase markers. Students also worked on their fine motor skills by making torn paper snowflakes.
Thursday January 8th
Students started the day by talking about more/less by comparing which number was bigger on our new class prize vote. We then read the story "A Polar Bear in the Snow" and our "My Big World: Hey There Little Bear" magazine to learn about the different things a bear cub does throughout the day.
Friday January 9th
We started our day with P.E. Students got to play a game of "Red Light, Green Light" while working on walking versus running during the game. Students also worked on listening to hear the different colors.
Students also practiced writing their first and last names on paper.
Next week's topics
When we return, we will be talking about Hibernation as our theme. We will also be talking about the letter Rr and the number 8 and 9. We will additionally be introducing our new Heggerty curriculum.
Important Reminders
- Please make sure to sign your child in and out on the iPad daily. If you forget your barcode, there is a binder ring with all of your barcodes in the back of your child's cubby.
- Please make sure to help your child pick their lunch daily. Second choice alternates daily. On MWF, we have sunbutter and jelly. On T/Th, we have ham or turkey and cheese.
- Please check student's folder daily. Often, items from the office are sent home with the youngest student.
- 1/13- 1:30 dismissal (no aftercare)
- 1/13- Stuffy party earned- your child may bring one small stuffy to school for the day.
- 1/13- Kindergarten open house 6-7
- 1/19- No School
- 1/21- Mass (please arrive before 7:50 so we can meet our 8th grade buddies)
- 1/23- Praise assembly at 2
- 1/26-1/30- Catholic Schools Week
- 1/30- 1:30 dismissal (no aftercare)
