Week 15- November 17th-21st

Monday November 17th

On Monday, we started learning about the letter Nn.  We also read a story about special ways that we can thank God and share with others during Thanksgiving.

We also learned about the numbers 0 and 1 and practiced finding them on a paper.

Tuesday November 18th

We continued to talk about the letter Nn and made a list of words that started with Nn.  We then read "If You're Thankful and You Know It" and our My Big World "A time for Giving" magazine.

We also practiced our Christmas Caroling with the rest of the preschool.


Wednesday November 19th

We started our day with Mass with our 8th grade buddies.  

We also got to see a Thanksgiving day parade put on by Miss Massman's class!




Thursday November 20th

Today we practiced writing the letter Nn.  Students also detected errors in the letter that could change the word if I wrote the letter wrong.  

We also read a story about a group of turkeys competing in a race, only to find out they were competing to be Thanksgiving dinner!

We finished our day by taking pictures to work on a super secret craft for Christmas.

Friday November 21st

We started off our morning with PE in Selinger.  Students tried out a new obstacle in our obstacle course and had to crawl under the tunnel to get to the other side.  One student even showed off how helpful they could be in cleaning up the obstacle course afterwards!  We also played the biggest game of follow the leader and had all three classes following Miss Jay!




After PE, we found a tiny Jesus outside of the gym.  Students were so excited to find this little guy and wave to him as we left.


After lunch, we celebrated Finley's birthday that is on Sunday.  Students did the birthday boogie, ate cupcakes, and enjoyed singing happy birthday!


We finished off our day with a Praise Assembly and celebrated Violet receiving the Red award for the month.  Seeing our students follow the big kids in dancing to praise music is always a highlight!

Next week's topics

Next week, we will be talking all about Christmas/Advent as our theme.  We will also be talking about the letter Oo and starting on numbers  2 and 3.

Important Reminders

  • Please make sure to sign your child in and out on the iPad daily.  If you forget your barcode, there is a binder ring with all of your barcodes in the back of your child's cubby.
  • Please make sure to help your child pick their lunch daily.  Second choice alternates daily.  On MWF, we have sunbutter and jelly.  On T/Th, we have ham or turkey and cheese.
  • Please check student's folder daily.  Often, items from the office are sent home with the youngest student.

  Monday August 25th Today we started talking about the letter Bb.  Students worked to find the letter Bb in songs and think of words that started with the letter Bb.  We then read a story from our religion curriculum about Jesus and his special friends, the Apostles, who were fishermen who chose to follow Jesus.  We talked about ovals and how they are squashed circles or "flat tires" as the kids said.  We finished our day with centers while students showed off their name writing skills. Week 2- August 18th-22nd

  Monday August 16th We started our week by continuing our daily morning meeting.  Afterwards, we moved to learning about the letter Aa and talked about the sound and what it looks like.  We also talked this morning about our calm spot and read a story about how to calm ourselves when we have big emotions.  Students also listened to a song to remind them how to calm down using stretches and breathing. After lunch, we talked about circles and how they have no sides and go around and round.  Students have also been working one on one with me to start our alphabet assessments to gauge where students are to start the year. Welcome!

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my second year teaching!  I graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
