Week 13- November 3rd-7th


Monday November 3rd

We started off our morning by learning about the letter Ll and introducing our letter learning lion named Lenny who has been helping us learn our letters all along.

We then read the story "Veteran's in our Neighborhood" and colored pictures for Operation Gratitude.





Students also learned about the color orange and practiced writing their names.

Tuesday November 4th

We continued talking about the letter Ll and made a list of all the words we could think of on our smartboard.  We also learned about different changes in our environment that are associated with fall.  Students discussed how the cooler weather causes less chlorophyll, which causes leaves to change colors.

Students also learned about the color green and continued practicing their names.

Wednesday November 5th

We started the day by practicing writing the letter Ll on our tables with dry erase markers.  Students then listened to the story "Turkey Trouble" in which a turkey tries to disguise itself to escape becoming Thanksgiving dinner.  We then discussed the family project that was sent home with students on Monday.  They have been tasked to disguise their own turkey to help it escape Thanksgiving dinner.

Thursday November 6th

Unfortunately, I was home sick this day but students got to spend the day with Miss Mary!  She helped them discuss the different shapes and colors of leaves and they created their very own leaf drawings.





Students also got the chance to practice their fine motor skills by making letters out of playdough with Miss Paige!

Friday November 7th

Today, we got to celebrate Sam's birthday, which is on Sunday, with his amazing birthday treats and a well performed Birthday Boogie.


Unfortunately, we were not able to use the gym for P.E. today so students gained an extra recess with some chalk obstacle courses.  

Because it was a $1 PJ day, students got to enjoy an episode of PJ Masks to end our day.

 Next week's topics

Next week, we will be talking all about Thanksgiving as our theme.  We will also be talking about the letter Mm and white, pink, gray, and black.

Important Reminders

  • Please make sure to sign your child in and out on the iPad daily.  If you forget your barcode, there is a binder ring with all of your barcodes in the back of your child's cubby.
  • Please make sure to help your child pick their lunch daily.  Second choice alternates daily.  On MWF, we have sunbutter and jelly.  On T/Th, we have ham or turkey and cheese.
  • Please check student's folder daily.  Often, items from the office are sent home with the youngest student.

  • 11/24-11/28- Thanksgiving break (no school)

  Monday August 25th Today we started talking about the letter Bb.  Students worked to find the letter Bb in songs and think of words that started with the letter Bb.  We then read a story from our religion curriculum about Jesus and his special friends, the Apostles, who were fishermen who chose to follow Jesus.  We talked about ovals and how they are squashed circles or "flat tires" as the kids said.  We finished our day with centers while students showed off their name writing skills. Welcome!

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my second year teaching!  I graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies! Week 22 January 27th-31st

  Monday January 27th We started our week off with a prayer service in the big school.  Students got to sing and dance, while also praying and being thankful for the opportunity to talk about Jesus in our school! After the prayer service, students were invited to a glow in the dark dance party in the gym where we danced our hearts out. We returned to our classroom to learn about the letter Ll and then made our way to Miss Jay's room for a movie watch party.  Students were amazed that the movie was actually on the ceiling! We finished our day with our Catholic Schools Week service project.  Students partnered with an 8th grade buddy to help clean our school and make Valentine's day cards for a local nursing home!
