Week 12- October 28th-31st

 

Tuesday October 28

We started our week with the letter Kk.  We also talked about saints and how they are special people in Heaven who we can ask for help when we are praying.  We learned about the color red and practiced in the gym with the 3rd grade for the praise assembly.


Wednesday October 29th

Today, we decorated our Halloween bags for trick or treating on Friday.  Students used stickers to decorate their bags.  We also practiced again for the Praise Assembly.  We learned about the color yellow and ended the day with center.

Thursday October 30th

Today we practiced writing the letter Kk.  Students also read the story "How to Catch a Monster" and painted our own monsters.

Friday October 31st

Halloween started off amazing with all sorts of fun times.  Students started by trick or treating through the big school and rectory! We then came back and enjoyed some fun Halloween games in our classroom.  We ended the day with some smores trail mix and Hawaiian punch.  Thank you to all of the parents who were able to donate time or party supplies to make this day extra fun!












Next week's topics

Next week, we will be talking all about Leaves as our theme.  We will also be talking about the letter Ll and orange, green, purple, and brown.

Important Reminders

  • Please make sure to sign your child in and out on the iPad daily.  If you forget your barcode, there is a binder ring with all of your barcodes in the back of your child's cubby.
  • Please make sure to help your child pick their lunch daily.  Second choice alternates daily.  On MWF, we have sunbutter and jelly.  On T/Th, we have ham or turkey and cheese.
  • Please check student's folder daily.  Often, items from the office are sent home with the youngest student.

  • 11/11- Veteran's Day assembly at 8:15 (Wear red, white or blue)
  • 11/11- 1:30 dismissal (no aftercare)
  • 11/14- School Musical
  • 11/19- Mass (please arrive before 7:50 so we can meet our 8th grade buddies)
  • 11/21- Praise Assembly at 2
  • 11/24-11/28- Thanksgiving break (no school)

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! Week 3- August 25th-29th

  Monday August 25th Today we started talking about the letter Bb.  Students worked to find the letter Bb in songs and think of words that started with the letter Bb.  We then read a story from our religion curriculum about Jesus and his special friends, the Apostles, who were fishermen who chose to follow Jesus.  We talked about ovals and how they are squashed circles or "flat tires" as the kids said.  We finished our day with centers while students showed off their name writing skills. Tuesday August 26th We continued to talk about the letter Bb today and made a giant list of words on our smartboard.  Students also worked to complete a paper where they identified the letter Bb.  During religion, we read about Nina and how she greeted a new student at her school and became friends with them as we welcomed a new friend into our classroom.  We also practiced tracing ovals and writing our names.  During recess, the students participated in an a...

Week 22 January 27th-31st

  Monday January 27th We started our week off with a prayer service in the big school.  Students got to sing and dance, while also praying and being thankful for the opportunity to talk about Jesus in our school! After the prayer service, students were invited to a glow in the dark dance party in the gym where we danced our hearts out. We returned to our classroom to learn about the letter Ll and then made our way to Miss Jay's room for a movie watch party.  Students were amazed that the movie was actually on the ceiling! We finished our day with our Catholic Schools Week service project.  Students partnered with an 8th grade buddy to help clean our school and make Valentine's day cards for a local nursing home!
