Week 7- September 22nd-26th

 

Monday September 22nd

We started off our week by talking about the letter Ff.  Students learned the letter sound and that you can feel your breath when you are saying the sound.  We also started practicing some phonics skills by doing some sentence repetition.  After working on our letters, we colored the pieces for our scarecrow craft and stamped our handprints.

During morning recess, students discovered a frog handing out on the playground.


We then continued our day by talking about the shape rhombus and how it looks like a diamond.  The students noticed the shape has 4 equal sides and looks like a square falling over.

Tuesday September 23rd

Today we continued to talk about the letter Ff and made a  list off all of the words that started with the /f/ sound.  Students then got the chance to sign cards for our church priests to make them feel loved for Priesthood Sunday.

After lunch, students worked on tracing a rhombus.  We also worked on finding and coloring the letter Ff.

Wednesday September 24th

Today, we worked on writing the letter Ff and practiced writing it on the smart board.

Afterwards, we assembled the pieces to our scarecrows that we started on Monday.







After nap, we practiced tracing the letter Ff.

Thursday September 25th

Today, we celebrated Grayson's Birthday with donuts.

 

Afterwards, students used toilet paper rolls to stamp paint and make their very own fall trees.









At the end of the day, students worked on writing the letter Ff and identifying which pictures start with the Ff sound.

Friday September 26th

We started the morning with our P.E. class, where students continued to play "clean your room" and even beat all of the preschool teachers in a round.


After P.E. students listed to a story about how the leaves falling can help new trees grow later in the year.

After nap, students enjoyed some extra time with the nice weather and finished the day with a Praise Assembly and dance party.  Congratulations Finley on being this months award winner!

Next week's topics

Next week, we will be talking all about Camping and Exploring God's Creations as our theme.  We will also be talking about the letter Gg and Pentagons.

Important Reminders

  • Please make sure to sign your child in and out on the iPad daily.  If you forget your barcode, there is a binder ring with all of your barcodes in the back of your child's cubby.
  • Please make sure to help your child pick their lunch daily.  Second choice alternates daily.  On MWF, we have sunbutter and jelly.  On T/Th, we have ham or turkey and cheese.
  • Please check student's folder daily.  Often, items from the office are sent home with the youngest student.

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! Week 22 January 27th-31st

  Monday January 27th We started our week off with a prayer service in the big school.  Students got to sing and dance, while also praying and being thankful for the opportunity to talk about Jesus in our school! After the prayer service, students were invited to a glow in the dark dance party in the gym where we danced our hearts out. We returned to our classroom to learn about the letter Ll and then made our way to Miss Jay's room for a movie watch party.  Students were amazed that the movie was actually on the ceiling! We finished our day with our Catholic Schools Week service project.  Students partnered with an 8th grade buddy to help clean our school and make Valentine's day cards for a local nursing home! Week 1- Aug 14th-16th

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Wednesday August 14th The students were filled with both excitement and nervousness so our first day was much more relaxed.  The main goal for the day was for the students to get a feel for the classroom, as well as getting to know their fellow classmates and making new friends.  We successfully made it through our first ever morning meeting where we discuss the days of the week, month, weather, and do a morning prayer.  The whole class was attentive and participated!  A huge...
