Week 6- September 16th-19th

 Tuesday September 16th

We started our week off by learning about the letter Ee.  Students practiced making the Ee sound and identifying words that start with the letter.  We then went on to talk about Mass and how it is a very special time for us to talk to God and pray, while also covering Mass expectations.  

After lunch, students learned all about rectangles and then discussed the difference between a square and a rectangle.

After recess, all of the preschool students reviewed rules for being in the church.  We also went over what to do if there is an emergency situation while we are in church with our big kid buddies.

Wednesday September 17th

We started off our morning with Mass. Students did an absolutely amazing job by listening to their buddies and staying attentive, even during our fire drill!  After Mass, we got to celebrate Harper's birthday!


After lunch, students practiced tracing rectangles and discussing how to tell the difference between a square and a rectangle.




In honor of doing so well at our first Mass, students got to eat popsicles. 


During small group, some students got the opportunity to play alphabet memory match!




Thursday September 18th

We started our day by talking about pigs and how they don't sweat so they use mud to keep cool.  Students then got to fingerpaint mud onto their own pigs.








Students continued to work on their letter skills and practiced writing the letter Ee today as well.

Friday September 19th

So many fun things happened today!  We started with P.E. just like every Friday and played a game of "Clean Your Room".  Sadly, we lost and the basement had the smellier room but students were still excited for the upstairs classrooms to win.


After P.E., Miss Jay had arranged for El Puente, which is the Churches Hispanic Ministry group, to come and talk to students about Hispanic Heritage Month.  Students got to see and discuss authentic Hispanic clothing, try Pan Dulce and Guava, and experience dance with maracas!  Thank you El Puente for coming and discussing Hispanic Heritage with us and sharing your culture!








Next week's topics

Next week, we will be talking all about Fall as our theme.  We will also be talking about the letter Ff and Rhombus.

Important Reminders

  • Please make sure to sign your child in and out on the iPad daily.  If you forget your barcode, there is a binder ring with all of your barcodes in the back of your child's cubby.
  • Please make sure to help your child pick their lunch daily.  Second choice alternates daily.  On MWF, we have sunbutter and jelly.  On T/Th, we have ham or turkey and cheese.
  • Please check student's folder daily.  Often, items from the office are sent home with the youngest student.

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! Week 22 January 27th-31st

  Monday January 27th We started our week off with a prayer service in the big school.  Students got to sing and dance, while also praying and being thankful for the opportunity to talk about Jesus in our school! After the prayer service, students were invited to a glow in the dark dance party in the gym where we danced our hearts out. We returned to our classroom to learn about the letter Ll and then made our way to Miss Jay's room for a movie watch party.  Students were amazed that the movie was actually on the ceiling! We finished our day with our Catholic Schools Week service project.  Students partnered with an 8th grade buddy to help clean our school and make Valentine's day cards for a local nursing home! Week 1- Aug 14th-16th

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Wednesday August 14th The students were filled with both excitement and nervousness so our first day was much more relaxed.  The main goal for the day was for the students to get a feel for the classroom, as well as getting to know their fellow classmates and making new friends.  We successfully made it through our first ever morning meeting where we discuss the days of the week, month, weather, and do a morning prayer.  The whole class was attentive and participated!  A huge...
