Week 34 April 28th-May 2nd
Monday April 28th
We started our morning by celebrating our the moms of our classroom. Students enjoyed muffins and got to give moms a fun new makeover. Thank you again to all of those who came.
We continued our day by talking all about bugs and how they have jobs they do every day. Students have taken notice to bees when we are outside for activities so we talked about how they help plants grow.
Tuesday April 29th
We started our day by playing a new game called Finding Larry. Students are tasked with finding a little lion picture hidden behind leaves that are labeled with letters. The students were so excited to learn and play this new game.
We then read a story about a special celebration to honor the Mother Mary. We discussed how our mass on Wednesday would be different because of the May Crowning ceremony.
During our normal nap time, students made their own construction paper flowers to practice scissor skills and creativity.
We finished our day by making noodle necklaces and laughing with friends.
Wednesday April 30th
Today was our May Crowning ceremony at Mass. Students were excited to be a part of this ceremony by bringing in their flowers from home.
After mass, we celebrated Oo day by talking about an octopus and how they use their tentacles to trap their food, through our My Big World magazine. Students also got a change to practice their syllable skills on sea animal names.
To finish our day, we soaked up some extra sun and made chalk mazes and obstacle courses for the students to race through.
Thursday May 1st
We started our day by talking about plants and how a little seed becomes a giant plant. Students also worked on their labeling skills by labeling parts of a plant.
We enjoyed our lunch outside this morning and students were so excited to be in the prayer garden.
After lunch, we continued to talk about plants and students worked hard to cut and paste the steps of a plants life cycle.
We finished our day by celebrating our Penny War victory with a popsicle party with Mrs. Dunn and Miss Massman's classes and thanked them for their help in our victory.
Friday May 2nd
We started our day with a walk to the Governor's Garden for P.E. Students were in awe of the Mansion and kept talking about the "castle" they kept seeing. They were even more excited to go up the stone steps and get a closer view.
We continued our day by watching "A Bug's Life" to finish up our bug and plant weeks.
We also spent some extra time outside for fun Friday!
