Week 31 April 7th-11th

 Monday April 7th

We started our day by having an alphabet party since we successfully completed writing all of the letters.

We also spent our morning sharing our baby photos with each other and trying to guess who's pictures were which.

At recess, we had bubbles for students to use and spent the rest of our afternoon playing in our centers.

Tuesday April 8th

We started the day with a cowboy counting video that students were able to dance along to.

Then we read about the story of Easter and discussed how we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead on Easter Sunday.  Students then watched an animated version in the classroom.

We finished our day by skipping nap and watching Toy Story to celebrate our amazing western wear.

Wednesday April 9th

The day started with Donuts and Dodgeball with Dads, which was an absolute hit.  Thank you to all of those who were able to attend for making this a special day for your students!  Students were able to show off their "dodgeball" skills with some friendly competition both with and against the dads.

To finish our day, we attended the dress rehearsal for grades 2-4 spring concert and were able to watch some of our siblings perform.

Thursday April 10th

Today we created a collaborative poster to hang in our classroom.  Each child was given a square of the poster to color however they wanted and then the pieces were taped together to add to our classroom.  The poster is displayed next to our kitchen center in our classroom.

For E day, students had an extra recess to make sure they got plenty of exercise for the day!

At the end of our day, we talked about eggs with the help of our Scholastic My Big World poster about eggs and chickens.

Friday April 11th

Instead of P.E today, students got to paint their craft for their grandparents to give them on Monday during our Gardening and Granola with Grandparents event!  Afterwards, we shared what our favorite colors were, per today's letter theme.

After lunch, we talked about primary colors and how they could be combined to make secondary colors.  Students also discovered how mixing all the colors can cause them to be a brown/black color.

We finished our day by watching "The Hero of Color City", where a box of crayons goes on an adventure to save their city!
