Week 29 March 25th-28th

 Tuesday March 25th

We started our week by learning about the letter Zz and practiced how to write it.  During Religion, we continued to talk about prayer and read a story from Stories of God's Love called "Friends of Jesus Praise God".  This story talks about how the Apostles welcomed others into their homes to pray and learn about God and Jesus before churches were made.  

We finished our day by reading more of our Magic Treehouse and learned what a Samurai warrior is.


Wednesday March 26th

We started our day with the letter Yy and practiced how to write an uppercase Y.  During Religion, we continued to sing some praise songs to show different ways that we can pray.  We also continued to talk about how not all of our prayers will sound the same.  

Our day ended with some extra outdoor time and a fun Easter read aloud.


Thursday March 27th

We reviewed Yy sounds and practiced writing lowercase y.   During Religion, we read the story of Jonah and the whale and talked about how we sometimes make mistakes and don't do what God would like us to do but we can always pray and ask for forgiveness.  We also talked about how it is important to forgive others when they make mistakes.

Our day ended with a Praise Assembly, where students got to practice singing and praying!  Students were also reminded that sometimes, we have to do things that we don't want to but we still need to do them. 

Friday March 28th

We started with our P.E. class outside this morning.  Today, we introduced tball to students in honor of opening day being yesterday.  Students practiced hitting the ball, throwing, and running the bases.



At the end of our mock ball game, we practiced good sportsmanship and said "good game" to all of our friends.


We then went inside and learned our new heart word, "to".  Students sang a song and practiced writing their new heart word.

Today was our first day of weeding out naps for the rest of the school year.  We will be continuing to nap but will take out 1-2 naps a week.  During our normal nap time, students chose to plan in the kitchen or color an Easter banner in our classroom.




We finished our day by finishing our Magic Treehouse ninja book and had a Disney dance party to finish off fun Friday. 


Important reminders

  • We are going to slowly be taking nap out of our daily schedule to prepare ourselves for kindergarten.  There will be no napping starting April 28th.  This is a huge change in our schedule so please be aware and considerate during this process.
  • Mass on April 2nd. Please arrive by 7:45.
  • Scholastic Orders due on April 4th by 12:00
  • April 8th is a 1:15 dismissal.
  • Mass on April 16th. Please arrive by 7:45.  Also a praise assembly this day.
  • No School April 17th, 18th, 21st or 22nd for Easter Break.
  • Mass on April 30th. Please arrive by 7:45.

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
