Week 28 March 17th-20th

Monday March 17th

We kicked off St. Patrick's day with some rainbow goldfish crackers for snack and then worked on reading some CVC words.  During Religion, we talked about who St. Patrick is and why he is the Patron Saint of Ireland.

We finished our day with St. Patrick Day cookies and a silly St. Patrick's day story. 


Tuesday March 18th

We started our day with chalk drawings to soak up some morning sun.  Students practiced writing their names and then made their own chalk paths to race on with friends.







We continued by learning uppercase E and reading a story in Religion about thanking God for everything in our lives.

We finished our day with our My Big World magazine which was all about frogs and life cycles. We also talked about how some frogs use camouflage to trick prey around them.

Wednesday March 19th

The morning started with Mass for the Feast of St. Joseph.  After Mass, students learned all about lowercase e  and practiced finding words that start with Ee.  

Because it is the Feast of St. Joseph, Msgr. Kurwicki gave students an extra recess.  We finished our day with a discussion about Spring and what changes we will start to see in the environment around us.

Thursday March 20th

Miss Paige is gone today so students were extra excited to have Miss Mary in our classroom for the day.  We practiced the letter Vv and worked on making the letter sound properly.  For our Religion class, we started our "Lucky Me" craft.  Students had to come up with 4 things that make them feel lucky or that they are lucky to have and draw them on each petal of our four leaf clover.  

Students got to color their Lucky Me crafts at the end of the day to take home with them and share with their families.  Please continue to talk to your child about what they are thankful for and lucky to have and practice praying to God to thank Him for these amazing things.

  • Mass on April 30th. Please arrive by 7:45.

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
