Week 27 March 10th-14th

 Monday March 10th

We started by reviewing the letter Kk sound and practiced writing both upper and lowercase Kk.  During Religion, we read about David and how he used music to pray to God.

After lunch, we challenged the office staff to a penny war.  Please remember to bring in your money from the 17th to the 20th to try and beat the office staff!


We finished our day outside with snack and played with chalk!




Tuesday March 11th

We started on the letter Qq today, mainly focusing on the letter sound.  Students also got to practice praying through music today with the song "My Lighthouse" by Rend Co. Kids.


Wednesday March 12th

We continued on the letter Qq today and practiced writing uppercase Q. 




During Religion, we continued to discuss different types of music we can use to pray but also how our prayers may not always sound the same.

To finish our day, we joined Miss Jay and Mrs. Nikki for our weekly Lenten service project and gave treats to our 8th grade buddies.  Throughout Lent, we are planning to do a small act of service/kindness for our community.



Thursday March 13th

Today we practiced lowercase q and reviewed the letter sound. Students also noticed that when we write a Qq in words, there is almost always a Uu behind it.

We talked about who St. Patrick is today for Religion and discussed why we celebrate him. 

To finish our day, we made shadow art of shamrocks using only our fingers!





Friday March 14th

We took P.E. to the big flat today and got to play with our parachutes.  Students learned about cause and effect by having all of the students let go of the parachute to see if it would stay in the air or fall down right away.




We finished our day with a little extra recess time to enjoy the warm weather and then set up our leprechaun trap in hopes to catch one over the weekend.

  • Mass on March 19th. Please arrive by 7:45.
  • No School March 21st and 24th.

  • Mass on April 2nd. Please arrive by 7:45.
  • April 8th is a 1:15 dismissal.

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
