Week 26 February 24th-28th

Monday February 24th

We started our day by learning about the letter Ww and thought of a list of words that start with Ww.  During Religion, we read the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 and talked about the importance of prayer before eating our food.

We finished our day with a praise assembly, where we celebrated and worshiped God.

Tuesday February 25th

We started our day by reviewing the letter Ww and detected words that start with the Ww sound.  For Religion, we watched an animated Bible story about our story from Monday.

At the end of our day, we read a story about a lost dinosaur egg and who the egg belongs to.  Afterwards, students colored their very own dinosaur eggs.




 

Wednesday February 26th

Today we practiced uppercase I and reviewed the letter sound.  For Religion, we watched a video that discussed the different parts of Holy Communion and talked about when a child receives first communion.

We finished our day with a little bit of an extra recess and some time to play with our table toys.


Thursday February 27th

Today, we practiced lowercase i and reviewed the sound while also sounding out some basic words.  We also read a story a bout a young man receiving his first communion and talked about why it is such a special day in our church family.

We finished our day with our Scholastic magazine and had a snack outside!




Friday February 28th

We started like we do every Friday with our P.E. class and practiced a game of follow the leader with Miss Jay.


After lunch, we took a walk to Adrian's Island and back for a little exercise before watching Ice Age.



Important reminders

  • No School Monday February 17th for President's Day.
  • We will be attending mass on February 19th so please arrive early so we can meet our 7th grade buddies before church.
  • We have a praise assembly on February 24th
  • Parent lunch A-K is on February 25th.  Our class eats at 10:20.
  • There is a 1:30 dismissal on February 28th.

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
