Week 25 February 17th-23rd

 Thursday February 20th

With the late start, our day was moved around to accommodate.  We started with our letter time and learned how to write the letter Gg.

After lunch, we made a dinosaur craft for our classroom using bigger legos to stamp the paint onto the dinosaur on our paper.




We later read a story called "How to Catch a Dinosaur", which is part of one of our favorite classroom series.  

We ended our day by reading some of our Magic Treehouse book and had a dino dance party to finish.

Friday February 21st

We learned how to write the letter Nn today and practiced telling the difference between when it was written the correct way or not.  

Due to not being in our classroom for naptime, students got to watch "The Good Dinosaur" and play with toys in the aftercare room instead of napping.  One of our goals over the next few months is to eliminate nap in our classroom as a whole since students are not allowed to nap in kindergarten. 

We finished our day with more Magic Treehouse and some dino yoga.

  • Lunch registrations for L-R are due March 3rd.
  • I will be gone on March 6th to attend a professional development conference so a substitute will be in our room.
  • No School March 7th, 21st, or 24th.

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
