Week 24 February 10th-14th

 Tuesday February 11th

We started our week with a new heart word.  Students started by review heart words "the" and "see" before learning "my" and practicing writing it.  Throughout the rest of the week, students were pointing out when they would see a heart word and it is great to encourage it at home as well.

For religion, we read a story about a little boy who chose to help his mother shovel the snow out of the driveway, even though he wanted to play his video game.  We then talked about some of the things we can do at home to help, even though we can't always help with more difficult chores.

Thursday February 14th

We reviewed our religion story from Tuesday at the start of our day.  We then made love coupons for our parents.  These coupons are a reminder to students that there are sometimes things we don't want to do but it is important that we still do them.





We went on to watch a video about St. Valentine and talked about traditions of Valentine's Day.  We finished our day by making our "I Love You To Pieces" torn paper craft for our parents to enjoy.

Friday February 14th

We started our fun filled day with a breakfast of fresh strawberries, mini muffins, and apple juice.  Students were very enthusiastic to show our parent volunteers our morning meeting. 

During our party, we decorated treat bags, played alphabet bingo, searched for number hearts, and pinned the heart on the lovebug.








Thank you again to the parents who volunteered in the classroom and donated items to make our party a possibility.

We finished our day by handing out our valentine's to all of our friends and playing with table toys together.






Important reminders

  • No School Monday February 17th for President's Day.
  • We will be attending mass on February 19th so please arrive early so we can meet our 7th grade buddies before church.
  • We have a praise assembly on February 24th
  • Parent lunch A-K is on February 25th.  Our class eats at 10:20.
  • There is a 1:30 dismissal on February 28th.

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
