Week 22 January 27th-31st

 Monday January 27th

We started our week off with a prayer service in the big school.  Students got to sing and dance, while also praying and being thankful for the opportunity to talk about Jesus in our school!


After the prayer service, students were invited to a glow in the dark dance party in the gym where we danced our hearts out.


We returned to our classroom to learn about the letter Ll and then made our way to Miss Jay's room for a movie watch party.  Students were amazed that the movie was actually on the ceiling!


We finished our day with our Catholic Schools Week service project.  Students partnered with an 8th grade buddy to help clean our school and make Valentine's day cards for a local nursing home!





Tuesday January 28th

We started the day by reviewing the letter Ll and practiced writing the letter. We also had a dance party in the classroom.

At the end of our day, we had a school pep assembly where a few preschool students got to participate in a minute to win it cookie race.


We also had to take pictures of all of us in our class color!



Wednesday January 29th

We started the day by getting a BINGO in our all school bingo game.


We also learned about the letter Pp and practiced our writing.  After that, we learned about some of the miracles that happened in Jesus' life.

We finished the day with a magic show.  Students were blown away by all the cool tricks.


Thursday January 30th

We practiced phonics skills this morning by doing  a sound and picture sort.

We also got to celebrate a class birthday today!

We finished the day with the annual Staff vs. 8th grade volleyball game.  Our students had a blast and the 8th grade won!


Friday January 31st

We got to take part in mini courses today.  All five preschool teachers and aides lead a course for the students.  We had keychain making, slime making, drawing, cookie decorating, and a night light craft.  All of the students rotated through the various classrooms and took turns participating.




Reminders

  • This week is our Super Bowl dress up week!  A list of dress up days was sent home this past week and is posted by the iPad at check in.
  • There is no school on February 10th and a 1:30 dismissal on February 11th. (Preschool doors open at 1:15)
  • Valentine's information will be sent out this Monday. (Friday was too crazy for me to get the information put together) Please give all parents an opportunity to sign up before signing up for multiple items.

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

Welcome!

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
