Week 21 January 20th-24th

 Tuesday January 21st

We started our day by practicing how to write the lett
er Cc.  We then moved onto religion, where we read a story about the Apostles spreading the story of Jesus and discussed what it means to be friends of Jesus everyday.

We then joined Miss Jay for a super fun dance party with her friends.


We finished our day by reading the Polar Bear edition of My Big World and read all about what polar bears do.

Wednesday January 22nd

Today, we practiced writing uppercase R and sounded out words that start with R.  During religion, we continued to talk about how we can be good friends of Jesus everyday.

Thursday January 23rd

We continued to discuss the letter Rr and practiced writing a lowercase r.  We also created a "Friends of Jesus" banner with our handprints that is displayed in our classroom.

We finished the day by painting wax resistant snowflakes.




Friday January 24th

We started the day with P.E. and beat the upstairs classrooms twice in "clean your room".  The students then went up against the 5 preschool teachers/aides and had an absolute blast.

We then returned to our classroom and learned the heart word "see" before having a dance party in honor of fun friday.

We finished our day with a praise assembly and had so much fun singing and praying with the big school.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • Next week is Catholic Schools Week so please check your student's folder for a list of dress up days and daily activities.
  • Please continue to work on Kindergarten readiness skills at home as Kindergarten screening is fast approaching.

  Where do i even begin?  I want to thank all of the parents for helping your child be successful in this first "week" of school!  I am so proud of all of my students for how quickly they have adapted to this next adventure!  I will post on our classroom website once a week (I will try to have the weekly post up by Saturday evenings).  I will also try to do a better job of taking pictures during activities so that you as parents can have a better look into our classroom. Week 2- Aug 19th-23rd

  Monday August 19th Monday we started talking about all of our curriculum work.  We introduced Larry the letter lion to help us reviewing and introducing our handwriting buddies.  We talked all about Stanley stick and how he starts at the top and goes straight down to the bottom.  We also talked about the letter A and made a list of words that all start with the a sound. During religion class, we talked about the Bible and what it is made up of.  We then talked about Jesus and who he is and what his mission on Earth was (spreading God's love).  The students met our classroom stuffed Jesus and got to see where to find him in our classroom.   After recess, we had a popsicle party to celebrate a friend in Miss Nikki's class who had a birthday, as well as his sister in our class.  We then started in on our emotion lesson by reading "A Little Scribble Spot" and talking about what colors match each emotion.  We then finished our day with our ...

  Hello preschool families!  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! My name is Miss Harley Hagenhoff and this is my first year teaching!  I recently graduated from Missouri Valley College in December of 2023 with a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.  Before that, I graduated from Helias Catholic High School in May of 2020.  I am the oldest of 7 kids and have two fur babies, Dakota and Elsa.  If I am not in the classroom, I am typically finding some sort of craft to do or playing with my puppies!
