Week 4- Sep. 3rd-6th
Tuesday September 3rd
We started our day by sharing all of the fun things we did over the weekend and practiced taking turns by listening to other friends share before we shared our story. We then combined our two previously learned handwriting buddies, Stanley stick and Lenny line, to make a plus sign and practiced how to make the new buddy by writing in the air. We then started talking about the letter Ee and made a huge list of words that start with Ee.
During Religion, we started talking about the virtue of love. We read the story of Jesus blessing the children and talked about how a blessing is a special prayer given to someone. We ended our day with a fun science experiment/craft. We filled a writing tray with shaving cream and food coloring and made marbled paper eggs to celebrate learning the letter Ee.Wednesday September 4th
Today the students had a substitute for the first time. I was home sick and missed the students very much. While I was gone, students continued to work on the letter Ee and how to make a plus sign.
During Religion, they practiced all of their recall skills and learned a new rhyme that talked about how special we are to God.
Thursday September 5th
We started talking about the letter Ff today and the students managed to fill the board with words on the first day. You may notice a few words that start with "ph" and that led to a conversation about how those are special words because they try to play tricks on us with their sounds.
We also made sure to celebrate our Chiefs spirit today and most students wore their KC Chiefs gear to show off.

Friday September 6th
Today was fun Friday so we started our day with some PE class with Miss Jay and Mrs. Nikki. The students were split into two groups and played "Duck, Duck, Goose" or completed an obstacle course to practice some gross motor skills.
We finished up our story about Jesus blessing the children with an animated version of the story to help students visualize a little more what the story looked like.
We finished our talk about the letter Ff with a craft. Students used markers to color their paper plate fish and worked on using multiple colors within our artwork.
Next week, we will be talking about ways that God made us to be special, working on our circle skills, and discussing the letters Gg and Hh.
