Week 14- November 10th-14th

Monday November 10th We started our day by learning about the letter Mm and watched Olive and Rhyme to learn more about the letter.  Students then began making handprint turkeys for to give to parents for Thanksgiving. We went on to learn about the color pink and colored our letter Mm coloring sheet. Tuesday November 11th This morning, we attend the Veteran's day assembly.  Students did an amazing job of being respectful and honoring our veteran's. We came back to our classroom afterwards and colored pictures to send to some of Miss Jay and Mrs. Nikki's family who are currently deployed. For our early out movie day, students got to watch Ratatouille to get in the mood for a Thanksgiving feast. Week 13- November 3rd-7th

Monday November 3rd We started off our morning by learning about the letter Ll and introducing our letter learning lion named Lenny who has been helping us learn our letters all along. We then read the story "Veteran's in our Neighborhood" and colored pictures for Operation Gratitude. Students also learned about the color orange and practiced writing their names. Tuesday November 4th We continued talking about the letter Ll and made a list of all the words we could think of on our smartboard.  We also learned about different changes in our environment that are associated with fall.  Students discussed how the cooler weather causes less chlorophyll, which causes leaves to change colors. Students also learned about the color green and continued practicing their names. Week 12- October 28th-31st

  Tuesday October 28 We started our week with the letter Kk.  We also talked about saints and how they are special people in Heaven who we can ask for help when we are praying.  We learned about the color red and practiced in the gym with the 3rd grade for the praise assembly. Wednesday October 29th Today, we decorated our Halloween bags for trick or treating on Friday.  Students used stickers to decorate their bags.  We also practiced again for the Praise Assembly.  We learned about the color yellow and ended the day with center. Thursday October 30th Today we practiced writing the letter Kk.  Students also read the story "How to Catch a Monster" and painted our own monsters.   We also performed at the praise assembly . Week 11- October 20th-23rd

  Monday October 20th This week we started talking about the letter Jj and practiced the sound.  Students identified pictures that started with the letter Jj and the /j/ sound.   We also discussed nocturnal animals and how they only come out at night because of various reasons, such as, camouflage, more food, less predators and more!  Students came up with a ton of animals that only come out at night and came up with reasons for why each slept during the day. After lunch, we had our first preschool rehearsal for our praise assembly performance.  Students have been working hard on singing loud and not just screaming. We finished the day with free play centers where students worked on their social and emotional skills. Week 10- October 13th-17th

  Monday October 13th We started off our week by talking about the letter Ii.  Students practiced making the sound and hearing the difference between the other vowels that we have learned so far. We started off pumpkin week by drawing Jack-O-Lantern faces and painting some crayon resistant pumpkins while talking about the different colors pumpkins can be. We continued our day by making cards to send to a classmate who is very sick. Tuesday October 14th We started the day with birthday cupcakes to celebrate Susannah's birthday! We continued to work on the letter Ii and practicing our letter skills.  We also read "The Biggest Pumpkin Ever" and looked through our My Big World magazine, which talked about big and small facts about pumpkins. To end our early out day, students watched Encanto to close out Hispanic Heritage Month.
