Week 20- January 12th-16th

    Monday January 12th We started our week by learning about the letter Rr.  We then started talking about hibernation.  Students listened to the story, "Harold Hates to Hibernate" and read through our "My Big World: A Long Winter's Nap" magazine.  Students also practice our song for the praise assembly. Tuesday January 13th Students got to have a stuffy day today and have their stuffies help them learn throughout the day.  We reviewed what we had read yesterday by completing our "Look What I Learned" worksheet about hibernation. Wednesday January 14th We started our day by learning how to write the letter Rr and continued to practice the letter sound.  Students also used their listening skills to follow a directed drawing of a sleeping bear. Thursday January 15th Today, students solidified their knowledge of hibernation by watching "The Magic School Bus Gets Cold Feet" and asking questions about why certain animals sleep for such a long tim...

Week 19- January 5th-9th

Monday January 5th We started off our day by celebrating Maria's birthday. Students also started learning about the letter Qq.  We then watched "The Magic School Bus In the Artic" and talked about how certain animals use their bodies to stay warm and how they can use their coloring to stay safe. Tuesday January 6th Students listened to the story of the magi finding baby Jesus today and discussed the gifts they had brought.  Students also continued to learn about the letter Qq. Wednesday January 7th Students started the day by practicing writing the letter Qq on the tables with dry erase markers.  Students also worked on their fine motor skills by making torn paper snowflakes. Thursday January 8th Students started the day by talking about more/less by comparing which number was bigger on our new class prize vote.  We then read the story "A Polar Bear in the Snow" and our "My Big World: Hey There Little Bear" magazine to learn about the different things ...

Week 18- December 15th-18th

Monday December 15th We started our week off with some hot chocolate provided by our amazing cafeteria staff and volunteers! After our hot chocolate, students partnered up with some 7th grade friends to listen to Christmas stories! Students also got to enjoy our school's St. Lucy day parade with all sorts of amazing costumes. After the amazing parade, students celebrated Polar Express day in the most amazing way.  We projected the movie in the gym for students to watch.  Students also got to go take a picture with the "conductor" and the Polar express. We ended our day with a special visit from Mr. Viet.  He had received a special package straight from the North Pole with a special letter to students.  Inside, students received a bell that was so cold after coming from the North Pole!
