Week 17- December 8th-12th

Monday December 8th We started our week by learning about the letter Pp.  Students practiced the sound with a partner.  We also read the story of Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem to have Baby Jesus and how the shepherd told all of the people. Students also worked on finding the number 4 and some fine motor skills through coloring. Tuesday December 9th We started the day by making a list of all of the Pp words that we could think of and going on a letter adventure on the smartboard.  Students then got to work on a very special surprise for moms and dads. Students also practiced writing the number 4. Wednesday December 10th This morning, students learned about fun holiday activities that they could do at home to help spread joy and cheer.  Students also finished up their surprise projects.  We also had to find the number 5. We ended our day with an extra recess after enjoying a beautiful presentation of Our Lady of Guadalupe, with dancing and a short play. T...

Week 16- December 1st-5th

Monday December 1st We started our day by talking about the letter Oo and the sound that it makes.  Students learned a lot of different words that start with the letter Oo.  We then read a story called "An Angel Brings Good News to Mary" and talked about advent being a time we can prepare our hearts for Jesus. We then practiced for our Christmas caroling songs for one of the last times.  Students were also very excited to see the snow as we walked back from afternoon recess! Tuesday December 2nd We started our day by working on finding the letter Oo when mixed in with other letters.  We also colored pictures to compete in a coloring contest for Vocation Awareness week. We then went caroling!  I am so proud of how well the students did and am thankful for all of the parents who were able to come and enjoy the performance. Week 15- November 17th-21st

Monday November 17th On Monday, we started learning about the letter Nn.  We also read a story about special ways that we can thank God and share with others during Thanksgiving. We also learned about the numbers 0 and 1 and practiced finding them on a paper. Tuesday November 18th We continued to talk about the letter Nn and made a list of words that started with Nn.  We then read "If You're Thankful and You Know It" and our My Big World "A time for Giving" magazine. We also practiced our Christmas Caroling with the rest of the preschool. Wednesday November 19th We started our day with Mass with our 8th grade buddies.   We also got to see a Thanksgiving day parade put on by Miss Massman's class! Week 14- November 10th-14th

Monday November 10th We started our day by learning about the letter Mm and watched Olive and Rhyme to learn more about the letter.  Students then began making handprint turkeys for to give to parents for Thanksgiving. We went on to learn about the color pink and colored our letter Mm coloring sheet. Tuesday November 11th This morning, we attend the Veteran's day assembly.  Students did an amazing job of being respectful and honoring our veteran's. We came back to our classroom afterwards and colored pictures to send to some of Miss Jay and Mrs. Nikki's family who are currently deployed. For our early out movie day, students got to watch Ratatouille to get in the mood for a Thanksgiving feast. Week 13- November 3rd-7th

Monday November 3rd We started off our morning by learning about the letter Ll and introducing our letter learning lion named Lenny who has been helping us learn our letters all along. We then read the story "Veteran's in our Neighborhood" and colored pictures for Operation Gratitude. Students also learned about the color orange and practiced writing their names. Tuesday November 4th We continued talking about the letter Ll and made a list of all the words we could think of on our smartboard.  We also learned about different changes in our environment that are associated with fall.  Students discussed how the cooler weather causes less chlorophyll, which causes leaves to change colors. Students also learned about the color green and continued practicing their names. Week 12- October 28th-31st

  Tuesday October 28 We started our week with the letter Kk.  We also talked about saints and how they are special people in Heaven who we can ask for help when we are praying.  We learned about the color red and practiced in the gym with the 3rd grade for the praise assembly. Wednesday October 29th Today, we decorated our Halloween bags for trick or treating on Friday.  Students used stickers to decorate their bags.  We also practiced again for the Praise Assembly.  We learned about the color yellow and ended the day with center. Thursday October 30th Today we practiced writing the letter Kk.  Students also read the story "How to Catch a Monster" and painted our own monsters.   We also performed at the praise assembly .
