Week 21 January 20th-24th

  Tuesday January 21st We started our day by practicing how to write the lett er Cc.  We then moved onto religion, where we read a story about the Apostles spreading the story of Jesus and discussed what it means to be friends of Jesus everyday. We then joined Miss Jay for a super fun dance party with her friends. We finished our day by reading the Polar Bear edition of My Big World and read all about what polar bears do. Wednesday January 22nd Today, we practiced writing uppercase R and sounded out words that start with R.  During religion, we continued to talk about how we can be good friends of Jesus everyday. Thursday January 23rd We continued to discuss the letter Rr and practiced writing a lowercase r.  We also created a "Friends of Jesus" banner with our handprints that is displayed in our classroom. Week 20 January 13th-17th

Thursday, January 9th The lone day! I wanted to include our one day last week into the blog so you know what we did at school! We read our "My Big World" by Scholastic that was all about snow.  This led to a conversation about what happens if snow gets warm and a great writing activity.  Students created their own melted snowman and had to come up with an idea for why their snowman melted.  Students then traced the marker that Miss Paige or I wrote.  The writing, as well as the melted snowmen, are displayed in the classroom on a cork board. Tuesday, January 14th We started our day with the letter Ff and practiced writing an uppercase F. We then talked about the Epiphany and how it is a special time to honor Jesus and is when the wisemen officially made it to Jesus after he was born.
